Through the Bible in One Year

Some of you might make new year’s resolutions. You might want to resolve to read through the whole Bible in one year. Personally, I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. When the Lord saved me I became a new creature and all things became new. I know that the Lord wants to continually renew my mind. That is a life-long work of the Holy Spirit living within me. This work is not tied to any calender or man-made schedule. A new calender year might begin but for as a Christian I continue in the faith once delivered to the saints. The new year might bring in new man-made laws, regulations and rules but God’s Word does not change. It forever abides.

Since I got saved I became automatically devoted to study the scriptures. For the rest of my life I will read the Bible. I will read it in many ways: cover to cover, topical studies, personal edification, looking up issues, worshiping with psalms, repeating key verses over and over .. Simply, the word of God is a lamp to my feet and a light on my path.

If you need a practical tool to help you read through the Bible in one year, then I suggest the following schedule that I found in an old Bible. For many years I have hauled used Bibles from Goodwill stores in the rural South over to liberal Germany and used them in literature distribution here. They have gone to refugees, prison inmates, bookstores and public reading areas all across Germany and in the Abu Dhabi airport in the UAE.

I scanned the Bible reading calender from one very old Bible and I publish it here as a free PDF for you all. Please apologize the poor quality of the document but it is the importance of the content that matters most.
