Pro-Life Student At Berkeley Under Attack

I admire the courage of Isabella Chow. She is a pro-life Christian student in California. Of all places to study, she chose to study at UC Berkeley – one of the most leftist and liberal universities in the USA where ultra-leftitsts like Antifa are at work. So this is not an easy turf for a believer. Isabella Chow belongs to Students for Life and has actually become part of the student senate. Now she has come under attack because of her Christian convictions:

Kristan Hawkins from Students for Life reports:

You see, on October 31st, the Berkeley Queer Alliance Resource Center asked the Student Senate to pass a bill to condemn the Trump administration for considering a legal definition of gender that would require it to match a person’s sex at birth.

Almost every Senator voted in favor of the condemnation, except Isabella who simply abstained.

To explain her abstention, Isabella told the Student Senate that discrimination “is never, ever OK.” She condemned bullies and bigots. She said she abhorred stereotypes. And she said that those in the LGBT community are loved.

And then she bravely went on to say:

“As a Christian, I personally do believe that certain acts and lifestyles conflict with what is good, right and true. I believe that God created male and female at the beginning of time, and designed sex for marriage between one man and one woman. For me, to love another person does not mean that I silently concur when, at the bottom of my heart, I do not believe that your choices are right or the best for you as an individual.”

Isabella didn’t spew word of hate. She simply stated her religious beliefs, and did so in love for the other person.

I couldn’t be more proud of her.

However, now, more than 1,000 people on campus have signed a petition demanding that she resign from student government or face a recall.

Last week, hundreds of students packed a Senate meeting to insist she resign – or else.

On social media, students are cyber-bullying her calling her a “horrible person” and a “mental imbecile.” And the Daily Californian, Cal-Berkeley’s student newspaper, ran an editorial critical of her statements and refused to publish her written defense.

We must help Isabella Chow with a word of encouragement, so please go to the Students for Life website and write a message ot Isabella Chow:

Please pray for her. I thank God for her and the testimony for Christ and for life she has given at Berkeley. Truly we can say: TO GOD BE THE GLORY.
