What I love about America …
Whenever I come to the United States I love to eat at a Chick-fil-A restaurant. They do their business the right way. I appreciate that a store manager gave my daughter an audio CD with Sunday School songs. I appreciate that they close on Sundays so people can enjoy family and attend church. I attend an independent Baptist church. On a hot humid day in the rural south I love to sip on a 20 ounce super-size sweet tea. And of course after supper I like to rock in a Cracker barrel rocking chair. I love reading the Gideons’ Bible whenever I am in a motel. I am thankful they care to place them in public places like hotels worldwide. Good work! I love to buy little USA flags at Hobby Lobby and place them at the war memorials in Europe commemorating the sacrifice of those who died to pay the price of freedom of tyranny. What an example of humble sacrifice!
I love to drive big sedans like the Mercury Grand Marquis or older full size trucks. While I drive I listen to local Christian radio with preachers like Adrian Rogers, Lester Roloff, Oliver B. Greene and conservative talk radio. I listen to the Gaither CD I bought at Cracker Barrel. Songs about the gospel of Jesus Christ in whom alone is salvation. I turn up the radio loud for those southern gospel classics. They make me rejoice and lift up my hand in praise.
Whenever I drive long I-75 north of Atlanta I always rejoice when I see the sign that says “Larry McDonald Memorial Highway”. And I do remember him: a consistent conservative leader who opposed secular humanism and defended Christian principles! Men like that are needed to restore America from Obamunism. On my coffee table I still have the book “Rebirth of America” by Nancy DeMoss. The only change I want is conversion by turning your life over to the Lord Jesus Christ! A personal rebirth and a national revival.
I love the old country churches. Those that use the King James Bible, sing the hymns of revival, have a mourner’s bench and who have those church signs with a scripture verse for the whole community to read and meditate upon. They still preach that Jesus is the only way to Heaven and we pray in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ. The Bible alone is the standard for good and evil, right and wrong.
Those modern cars are kind of weird-looking and they talk about car sharing. I’m not sharing my truck! And my truck does not drink too much gas. The problem is not the engine but the gas price gouging that has been going on unprosecuted and unpunished.
You see I am just an old-time Christian. I am old-fashioned and politically incorrect. I believe marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman and I don’t look to government or a court judge to define that for me. The Creator of the universe established nature that way before there ever was a government, court or nation. And I have it in writing in my ole King James Bible in Genesis 2 and Jesus even quotes it to the Pharisees in Matthew 19:4-6. So I don’t care what the Supreme Court says. I pray the ignorance of their unbelief will soon be ended by a personal experience from nature to grace. Simply by repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ! I trust you have a testimony of such a personal experience with the Lord.
